Why It Matters

Mulch Done Wrong Can Cost You More Than It Saves

Too thin and weeds push right through. Too thick — or piled against tree trunks — and it traps moisture that causes root rot and pest problems. Skip bed prep and you’re mulching over weeds instead of removing them. A bad mulch job doesn’t just look wrong — it can damage the plants it’s supposed to protect.

The Solution

We Handle Delivery, Prep, and Installation — Correctly

We deliver the mulch, clear weeds and debris from your beds first, then install at the proper 2–3 inch depth with clean, straight edges. Starting at $130 per yard for a standard lot — properties requiring larger machinery or additional labor are priced based on scope.

FAQ

Questions About Mulch Delivery & Installation

How much mulch do I need?

We calculate this from your bed square footage during your free estimate (roughly 1 cubic yard covers 324 sq ft at 1-inch depth).

What depth do you install at?

2 to 3 inches — enough to suppress weeds and retain moisture without smothering roots.

How often does mulch need to be replaced?

Most mulch needs refreshing yearly, sooner if it looks gray or compacted.

Do you mulch around trees?

Yes, using a ring pattern around the trunk — never piled against it.

Do you offer a weed barrier?

Yes, available on request.

Will my price be exactly $130 per yard?

$130/yard is our starting rate for a standard Southeast Michigan lot. Properties that need additional equipment, access work, or extra labor are priced based on project scope, confirmed during your free estimate.

What if I already have mulch and just need it spread?

See our Mulch Installation page — that service covers spreading mulch you’ve already purchased or had delivered.
